Coventry Blaze won just one of their games in the Aladdin Cup tonight at Nottingham.
The home side were beaten 3-1 by Braehead Clan and Coventry took to the ice for the second game against the Sheffield Steelers in a 20 minute game.
A good Blaze following in a crowd of 2,633, saw Luke Fulghum put Coventry ahead after 38 seconds and on 7.43, Brad Cruickshank added a second.
Squires pulled one back on 9.27 but Coventry came back with goals from Greg Owen (12.22), Luke Fulghum (18.32 empty net goal) and Greg Owen (19.30) to give Blaze a 5-1 win.
The Panthers then beat the Steelers 5-2, setting up the fourth game between Braehead and Coventry.
Brad Cruickshank had Coventry ahead in 56 seconds. Landry levelled on 4.31 before Campbell put the Clan 2-1 up on 11.40.
Arron Nell levelled on 12.46 but Cook scored twice for Braehead on 17.12 and 17.54. Jon Weaver hit a third for Coventry on 18.36 but the Blaze lost 4-3.
They were straight back on the ice to face Nottingham Panthers, needing a win or a draw to go into the final, but were a goal down early doors when Clarke scored. The Panthers hit a second on 15.58 and Clarke scored a third on 17.57 to knock Coventry out of the cup.
The Clan lost 2-1 against Sheffield but still made it to the Final in which goals from Walker, Campbell and Cook gave Braehead a 3-0 win over Nottingham Panthers.
It's back to Elite League action on Sunday night, with the Blaze at home to Dundee Stars who put sixteen goals past Edinburgh tonight.
