Coventry City Ladies hopes of promtion to the Women's Premier League ended tonight when Derby County beat Crewe 4-2.
City needed Crewe to stop Derby from winning and hopes were high when Crewe took an early lead.
The Rams levelled on 27 minutes and went ahead shortly afterwards when a mistake by the keeper was punished.
But two minutes before the break, an awesome free kick had Crewe level two minutes before the break.
Derby came out fired up for the second half and were back in front thanks to a penalty at the start of the second half.
As the game entered stoppage time, The Rams scored again following a goalmouth scramble to prevent Paul Cudby's side from going up.
