Nuneaton Joint Top

Nuneaton Town went joint top with Cambridge United and Barnet of the Conference Premier table with a 2-1 win at Grimsby Town.

Nuneaton took the lead in the 26th minute when Gavin Cowan headed in a James Arnson corner and seven minutes later, Andy Brown headed in Danny Sleat's cross.

Grimsby had Answad Thomas sent off but scored a consolation goal  through Andy Cook four minutes from time.

Leamington FC drew 1-1 at Colwyn Bay in front of a crowd of 358. Robert Hopley put the North Wales side ahead in the 12th minute but Jamie Towers levelled in the 58th minute.

In the FA Cup, Bedworth Uniited lost 1-0 at Sutton Coldfield Town with a goal from 35 yards.

Rugby Town will have to travel to Stoke on Tuesday night after being held to a 1-1 draw by Norton United. Sam Youngs had put Rugby ahead but Norton equalised through Brown.

Stratford Town are out after going down to a 1-0 defeat to Midland Alliance side Tipton Town. Mike Perks scored the only goal of the game in the 47th minute.

Atherstone beat Studley 3-1.

In the Midland Combination Premier Division, Coventry Copsewood drew 0-0 at Blackwood, Nuneaton Griff beat Earlswood Town 5-1, Racing Club Warwick lost 2-1 at Pershore but Southam United beat Pelsall Villa 2-1.

In the Midland Combination Division Two, Coventry United beat Enville Athletic 4-1 in front of a crowd of 110.  Daniel Stokes put United ahead in the seventh minute and added a second in the 52nd minute. Robert Prinzel made it three in the 65th minute and although Enville reduced the arrears in the 79th minute, an own goal two minutes later, gave United a 4-1 win.

Also in Division 2, Leamington Hibernian drew 1-1 with Polesworth.
