Save Coventry City Farm

Last updated : 17 March 2008 By CCF
Coventry City Farm is an urban based farm allowing people to see, touch and learn about animals at close quarters. Situated in Hillfields, it provides facilities and activities to people from all over the city. Entrance to the Farm, open seven days a week, is free.

The aims of the Farm are:
(a) to provide pro-active, creative, safe high-quality open spaces
(b) to offer opportunities for people to learn new skills and abilities either informally or on formal accredited training courses, and
(c) to provide a valuable tool for training people of different abilities, ages and cultures.

The Farm provides training facilities for children and young people, with 36 local schools being members of the Farm. It is a City & Guilds Assessment Centre in its own right and provides vocational training with particular emphasis on working with disadvantaged people, such as people with learning difficulties or mental health problems.

The Farm also engages in many varied activities for the benefit of the whole community. These include Fun Days, Environment Days and other special events, as well as providing facilities for the elderly and the disabled.
In addition, the Farm provides a safe environment for the whole local community, many of whom are refugees or asylum seekers whose children may be severely traumatised.

Please help save the farm even if you have never been it is a fantastic place where children from the inner city get the oppertunity to see animals that they may not get the opportunity to see otherwise.
