BaseballSoftballUK’s Midlands Regional Development Officer Peter Evans got on the ice recently to mark the start of a corporate partnership with the Coventry Blaze Ice Hockey Team.

Peter was joined by James Pease, General Manager of the Blaze, and two of their North American players, Brian Lee of Michigan, sporting a Rockies uniform in the photo, alongside Colorado native Luke Fulgham.

The Blaze have given BSUK access to six of their North American players, who will be helping launch the new Coventry Corporate Softball League in March and April.

Both Brian Lee and Luke Fulgham are enthusiastic about getting involved, Brian said: “I’m from Colorado and have played baseball and softball all my life. It’ll be great fun to play some ball with the Blaze fans.”

Peter Evans added: “The Blaze have been a great help. They are a highly regarded organisation in our city and for BSUK to become a partner gives us a great deal of instant credibility amongst the Coventry community. Ultimately, however, it is our great game of softball that Coventry businesses will come to enjoy.”

The official launch of the league is due to take place on March 18 when the Coventry Blaze take on the Edinburgh Capitals. Ice hockey fans will get the opportunity to try their skills in the MLB Pitching Tunnel at the game and BSUK staff will be distributing information about the new league.
