From Jay,
Hi all,
I am taking part in the Virgin London Marathon on Sunday 25 April 2010 to hopefully raise upwards of £2500 for UCL Cancer Institute Research Trust.
My running number for this Sunday is 48,755 and I am wearing a fetching but rather baggy white vest!
I have trained a fair bit this year and even stopped drinking beer and eating burgers … believe me, it was the worst 24 hours of my life!!! I even got bitten on the leg by a stupid dog whilst running two weeks ago and I didn't even cry!
Cancer has touched almost all of us at one time or another, so any donations the UCL Cancer Institute Research Trust charity receives helps them try to achieve their goal and beat this disease.
I recently visited the institute and the facilities there are fantastic and the research they conduct in association with Cancer Research UK is invaluable. A lot of the information and research was very technical; however, it was hard not to be impressed with the knowledge and passion of the professors and staff. The mini-pasties were lovely too!
For more information on the charity and to see what change your donations will make, please visit the trust's website at http://www.ucl.ac.uk/cancertrust
This is my hat-trick year but believe me, it doesn't get any easier to train and prepare in the cold for 26 miles and 365 yards on a Sunday morning around London.
I am training harder than ever this year because I keep getting beat by people dressed in 8 foot rhino and camel fancy dress costumes and that embarrassment has to stop!!

Thanks in advance for your support!
