Coventry Storm's meeting against Cradley in the first leg of the Travel Plus Trophy was abandoned after just six heats due to track problems.
There has been rain and sawdust on the track and the opening three heats passed off without incident with Cradley 10-8 up.
But in the fourth heat, Danny Phillips was well ahead when his bike stormed towards the backstraight fence and Phillips was able to jump ship in time and walk away.
The track was in a right mess and there was a delay whilst everyone inspected the track. After being graded, the heat was re-run and finished in a 3-3
Nathan Greaves crashed heat five in a heat that should have been stopped but gave the Storm a 4-2 win.
Stefan Neilsen fell on the opening lap of heat six, remounted and ended up being lapped in a 3-3 which meant the scores were 18-18.
More inspections of the track followed and the meeting was abandoned with the result not standing.
