Stratford Knock Out Leamington

Jason Cadden got his revenge on his former club Leamington FC who sacked him and replaced with Paul Holleran as his Stratford Town side triumphed 2-0 in a Birmingham Senior Cup tie tonight.

Rob Thompson-Brown put the Midland Alliance league side ahead in the 28th minute before Dave Pearson put the match beyond doubt with a second seven minutes from time.

Bedworth United also pulled off a shock beating Burton Albion 4-2. Slaten had put The Brewers ahead in the 23rd minute before Rathbone equalised on the half hour mark.

In the second half, a 62nd minute Stanley penalty put Bedworth ahead before a brace from Ramsey in the 73rd and 83rd minutes made it 4-1 to the Greenbacks. Hallford hit a consolation goal in the 85th minute.

Atherstone Town were beaten 5-0 at home by Sutton Coldfield Town. Marshall scored a hat-trick for the visitors with goals from Murrell and Willis making it a bad night for the Adders.

Coleshill Town joined Coventry Sphinx and Stratford as Midland Alliance teams beating higher league opposition when they beat Halesowen Town 3-1.

Fellow Midland Alliance side Highgate are also through after a 1-0 victory against Causeway United but Willenhall Town were beaten 4-1 at home by West Bromwich Albion. Sawyer hit a brace for the Baggies with K.Brown and D.Daniel also on the scoresheet.
