Coventry Bees rider Chris Harris was beaten in the final of the Speedway Grand Prix in Croatia today.
Harris was in brilliant form and won Heat 3, was second in Heat 6 before winnings Heats 12, 15 and 17 to qualify for the first semi-final with 14 points.
In the first semi-final, Harris was up against Fredrik Lindgren, Chris Holder and Jaroslaw Hampel. Another good ride saw him win and go into the final along with Lindgren.
Greg Hancock and Jason Crump qualified from the second semi-final and it was the American Hancock who pipped Harris, who has moved up to eighth place in the Championship standing with 72 points, to take the victory.
Harris should be back in Coventry to ride for the Bees on Monday night against Belle Vue. Tapes up at 7.30pm at Brandon and the meeting is live on Sky Sports.
