Coventry Blaze went down to a third consecutive league defeat with a 3-2 defeat to Belfast Giants tonight.

After last night's 4-2 defeat in Belfast, the teams met again at the Sky Dome. Only five Belfast fans bothered to make the trip over, but they were the first ones cheering in a not full Sky Dome when Pruden put the visitors ahead on 5.56.

On 16.03, Jon Weaver had a shot blocked, Belfast broke up the other end and Welch beat Jaeger to make it 2-0.

Just under five minutes of the second period had been played when Coventry gave their fans something to cheer when Russ Cowley netted, assisted by Carlson and Nell.

Blaze continued to attack and in the 39th minute, Owen Fussey broke but was brought down on the blue-line. He got up to take the penalty shot awarded by referee D.Smith and scored on 39.16 to level the match.

On 52.28, Jaeger saw a Benedict shot late, fumbled at it but could not stop the puck going into the net to give Belfast the win.

Coventry Blaze play EPL side Telford Tigers on Wednesday night at the Sky Dome before an away trip to Nottingham on Saturday and a home game against the Panthers next Sunday.

After beating Telford 4-0 in Telford on Saturday Night the ENL follow up with a 3-1 win away in Blackburn with Rhys McWilliams getting the first, Philip Pollok getting the other two goals and goalie Josh Nichols getting the man of the match award.
