Coventry Blaze are back top and clear in the Elite Ice Hockey League after a good weekend brought two victories.
Last night, Paul Thompson's side travelled to Belfast and left with a 3-2 win thanks to goals from Dan Carlsson,Curtis Huppe and Neal Martin.
Back at the Sky Dome tonight, they faced Basingstoke Bisons and won by the same score. The Blaze were a goal down at the end of the first period and although Adam Calder netted, they were 2-1 down at the end of the second.
In the third period, goals from KC Timmons and Dan Carlsson plus some good net minding from Trevor Koenig gave Blaze the win.
Second placed Belfast lost 6-3 to Manchester who fielded Blaze reserve net minder Steve Fone.
