Stars of the show were Michael Powell who made 68 not out and Jim Troughton 34 not out as Warwicks finished the game on 169-3.
On Wednesday, Warwicks are at home to Northampton in a Pro 40 game which starts at 4.30pm and then face Northamptonshire in a County Championship game starting Thursday at 11am.
In the Test Match at Edgbaston, the game ebbed and flowed but it was South Africa who won the match. England were all out for 363 setting the tourists 281 to win.
With Smith not out on 154, South Africa passed the total to win by five wickets and win the series.
