The run rate was slowing and by the 30th over, Warwicks were only scoring at a run and over.

Ian Westwood added 22 before he came the fifth Warwickshire batsman to lose his wicket with six overs to go.

In the final over, which left Warwicks needing seven to win, Jon Trott, who had been the mainstay of the innings was caugh out by Horton for 86 after hitting two runs in the first ball of the over.

Ant Botha came in and hit a four in his first ball off Tom Smith. His second was a dot ball. Botha went for the run in his third ball and was run out by Smith.

The batsman had crossed and Rikki Clarke faced the final ball of the match and Warwicks' season. He hit the single run to give Warwicks a three wicket victory.
