Following on in their second innings, Darren Maddy took his score onto 148 and Warwicks on to 268-7 at lunch.
The heavens opened during lunch and the umpires abandoned the game at 4.45pm to give Warwicks an unliikely draw.
In the test at Lords, England could not bowl India out and the visitors ended on 282-9 with bad light stopping play and the match ending in a draw.
Locally, Coventry And North Warwickshire have been given plannng permission to extend their facilties. The club based at Binley Road, will put in two new squash courts, a bridge club function room and additional car parking. With the plans going through, the club has put paid to its interest in what is currently the home of Coventry Copsewood at Allard Way.
