Warwicks Through To Quarter-Finals

Warwickshire County Cricket club are through to the Quarter-Finals of the Twenty20 Cup with a nine run D/L at Glamorgan.

At a floodlit Sophia Gardens in Cardiff, Warwickshire batted first. Their innings was affected by rain and only eleven overs were bowled. In that time, Darren Maddy was 43 not out and Tim Ambrose making 42 for a score of 94-3.

The delay for rain saw Glamorgan start their innings at 9.40am needing 83 to win off nine overs.

Neil Carter was hit for twelve in the first over but Jimmy Anyon faired a lot better in the second, taking the wickets off Croft and Grant both caught by Darren Maddy.

Hemp,Wight and Maher were all removed cheapply before Mark Wallace put up some resistance hitting three sixes and a four in a quick innings of twenty five.

Glamorgan went into the final over needing eighteen to win. Heath Streak bowled. A four and two twos were all that he conceded to give Warwicks a win by nine runs and a place in the Quarter-Finals.
