Warwickshire lose to Somerset in the Twenty20 cup

The Warwickshire Bears lost tonight to Somerset in Taunton. The bears suffered their first defeat to Somerset in the seven games the two sides have met in the Twenty20 Cup.

Somerset won the toss and sent the Bears in to bat first. Warwickshire made a respectable 187 for 5 off their 20 overs. Top scorer was Troughton with 50 off 29 balls before he was stumped off the bowling of Waller. Captain Ian Westwood made 49 not out, but Ian Bell made just one run before being bowled by Turner.


Somerset replied with a match winning performance by their South African all rounder, Zander DeBruyn, who hit 72 runs off 44 balls before being caught by Trott off the bowling of Barker. Skipper Justin Langer saw Somerset home with 29 not out with two balls to spare.
