MATCH OFFICIALS
The currently appointed referee for Coventry City's Championship fixture against Doncaster Rovers on Tuesday night is Kingswinford based Andy Penn.
The 35 year old official and son of a former Football League Linesman and Panel Referee started refereeing when he was fourteen. He was promoted to the National List of assistant referees in 1996 and was a panel referee from 1998 until 2001 when he was promoted to the National List of Referees.
Speaking to Refworld, Mr Penn said when asked about his aims as a referee: "My aim is to enjoy every game as much as possible - when you consider the amount of time refereeing consumes, to go out on a Saturday afternoon or Tuesday evening and not enjoy the experience would be silly. I also aim to make every game as good a game for the spectators as is possible - my favourite saying is "the best Referee is the one you don't notice" - if people are leaving a ground after a game and they are not talking about me then hopefully I will have achieved something and done my job well."
The City V Doncaster game will be Mr Penn's tenth game of the season. He has had three Championship matches, four League One matches and two League Cup ties and shown 22 yellow cards and one red.
The game will be his first Coventry City league match at the Ricoh Arena.
His assistants are James Adock from Nottingham & Nigel Smith from Derbyshire and the Fourth Official is Wayne Porter from Lincolnshire. ____________________________________________________________________
