Coventry City have got themselves in a right mess regarding tickets for the FA Cup Fourth Round game at Torquay United.
There was a system in place whereby, everyone who bought a ticket for an away game was given a credit with those going to all the away games getting first priority, this worked well following its introduction in 2000.
However, for reasons, best known to themselves, this was scrapped at the end of last season and now regular match going supporters face missing out on this match due to the free for all/stuff your support system the club have brought it in.
According to the Club website on which there is no mention of our actual allocation which transpires is 1300, is the order of priority:
The cup clash will be all-ticket and prices will be £17 for seated adults and £16 for adults standing or in terraces, £14 for over 65's and students with NUS and £13 for over 65's or students in standing or terraced areas.
Under 16's tickets will cost £7 for terraced seated, or standing tickets.
Tickets Will be made available for sale, at ONE per person, as per the following schedule:
Monday, January 12: - Private Seat License Holders and Away Season Ticket Holders
Tuesday, January 13: - Season Ticket Holders
Wednesday, January 14 - Junior Sky Blues, Executive Members and Flexicard Members
Thursday, January 15 - General Sale
You cannot buy the tickets on-line and you can only get them by visiting the ticket office at the Ricoh Arena or by calling 0844 873 1883 (option 2).
Already, we have received a number of complaints from supporters who had been to a good number of away matches this season and whom feel let down again by the club.
Comments include "What is the point of spending loads of money to follow City away when you get treated like this."
"Whoever is responsible for this should be sacked."
"Loyal supporters - obviously, City don't want them."
"No way to treat those that travel regularly."
"I've spent over a grand watching Coventry away from home this season and this is how they value my support."
"Every Coventry supporter who has been to an away game can feel stabbed in the back over this."
