City Offer Jewson Stand Apology
Last updated : 08 August 2008 By CCFC
Coventry City have issued the following apology to those supporters who had bought season tickets in the Jewson Stand:.
"Coventry City season ticket holders who sit in the Jewson Stand are being re-allocated tickets at the Ricoh Arena for the duration of the 2008/09 campaign.
The decision to move season ticket holders who sit in the Jewson Stand has been taken primarily to improve health and safety at the Ricoh Arena and to reduce stewarding and policing costs, which rise significantly when the stand is occupied by both home and away supporters.
The small number of season ticket sales in that stand - around just 100 - would have meant home fans having access to five food and beverage kiosks and the thousands of away fans being able to use just two. Norwich City are expected, for example, to bring in excess of 2,000 supporters.
The club has attempted to contact all supporters who are affected by this to explain the reasons for the decision and to offer a choice of seating in any stand of their choosing for no extra cost.
The club would like to apologise for the short notice of this decision and for any inconvenience caused.
