Car parking at the Ricoh Arena could go the same way as the catering on the concourses and become a cashless operation.
This information which will be of interest to those who pay to park at the Arena either buy an annual payment or on a match by match basis, is contained in the small print of the cashless-payment website. http://www.cashless-payment.co.uk/
Currently, the car parking is controlled by Arena Coventry Limited.
The cashless system, which is being rolled out again this season, is run by Payment Solution Services Limited who are an English registered limited company and and whose registered office is Carmelite, 50 Victoria Embankment, London, EC4Y 0DX, although they have a postal address at the Ricoh Arena, like a number of companies.
Cashless system cards for this season are only valid until June 30th 2009 and any money owing on them should be reclaimed before that date.
The site says on this subject:
(1) The Cardholder may request a refund of all or part of any credit balance on the cashless payment Card during its period of validity and for up to two years after. Thereafter, no refund will be given.
(2) Refunds may be claimed at designated locations in and around the Arena or, alternatively, via postal return of the cashless payment Card to the Issuer at Payment Solution Services Limited, Ricoh Arena, 71 Phoenix Way, Coventry CV6 6G, or via the Website. Refunds are not available from Providers.
(3) Refunds may be requested in cash (subject to availability) at designated locations in and around the Arena or via the Website by bank transfer to the Cardholder's bank account. A refund by bank transfer is subject to a £2 transaction fee. No bank transfer will be made where the remaining credit on the cashless payment Card is less than £2.
(4) For cash refunds over £80, the Cardholder will be required to produce some form of valid identification (e.g. drivers licence or passport). Where a refund of over £80 is claimed by post or via the Website, the Cardholder will be required to send a copy of their form of identification to the Issuer by post.
(5) The maximum annual refund limit is €1,000 (or its Pounds Sterling equivalent).
(6) The Cardholder must produce and/or return the cashless payment Card in order to obtain a refund. No refund can be given in the event of damage to the storage chip or the imprinted identifiable card ID of the cashless payment Card, unless the Cardholder can provide evidence as to the amount of credit remaining on the cashless payment Card. No refund can be given in the event the cashless payment Card is lost or stolen.
Interestingly, the company providing publicity for the cashless payment system is Nottingham based Mace Sport who have Leicester supporting and City hating Gary Newbon as a Broadcast Consultant.
Mace Sport also handle publicity for Leeds based Prozone for which City Chairman Ray Ranson had an involvement with.
