Coventry City U18's came back to snatch a 2-1 victory in an highly entertaining fixture
Greg Rioch's side did not start well on a warm and sunny morning at the Alan Higgs Centre.
Neil Collett superbly saved a seventh minute free kick but could do nothing to prevent the Robins going ahead in the 17th minute when Marlon Jackson rose to head home a Stanelovski cross.
The Sky Blues hit back with three successive corners with the third coming from a lovely turn from Ashley Cain before Collett made another brave stop with his feet in the 37th minute,
Six minutes later, City had their best chance of the half when a first time cross from West was met by Shaun Jeffers whose left footed volley was pushed over by the visiting keeper. When the corner came in, Jeffers close range effort was scrambled off the line.
Adam Walker worked hard in midfield for a City side that were awarded a 52nd minute penalty.
Matty West was held back by the Bristol City centre half and got up to take the spot kick awarded by the replacement referee.
Unfortunately, West did not repeat his last gasp goal against Reading last week and blasted high over the bar.
In the 64th minute, Rob Ogleby was sent on for the Sky Blues and the nippy forward had only been on the pitch for 76 seconds when he got the ball inside the area on the left and stroked it low under the keeper's body to draw City level.
In the 70th minute, City's defence were caught and Curtis Wynter dived to blocked. He was adjudged to have used his hand and a penalty was awarded.
Justin Plummer took the kick but saw Collett dive to his left to maek a tremendous parry before Brad Jones few in to clear.
City pressed and with five minutes left, a cross fell for substitute Sulliman Lellu to power a header into the net to give City the win.
