Coventry City U18's remain sitting proudly at the top of the Academy League Group B table after beating Aston Villa 2-0 this morning.

The Sky Blues welcomed back Jordan Willis after his first team debut last Saturday and City started off well with a fifth minute Billy Daniels free kick. Holwever, in a half where both sides tried to pass the ball, Villa started to have the better chances.

Burge dived to his left to push away a Jordan Graham 17th minute shot and eleven minutes later, Burge watched on as Joe Henderson made a great clearance from a Jack Grealish run and shot.

Villa forced five corners before City broke in first half stoppage. Jonson Clarke-Harris played in Courtney Richards but with only the keeper to beat, Richards slipped and it was level at the break.

Burge made another good block two minutes after the start but with the sun out, City started to find the form which has seen them win nine out of eleven matches and they took the lead on the hour mark.

The goal came from a cracking move down the left and saw Courtney Richards get his head on the end of a cross to put City ahead.

In the 68th minute, Donaglen hit Burge's left hand post from inside the area. The ball came out to the left of the penalty area. Jack Grealish who had already been cautioned went down and was adjudged by the referee of trying to seek an unfair advantage and was shown a second yellow.

In the 78th minute, Burke hit the bar but City who again had every player putting in a good performance, broke down the left two minutes later. Ruffles sent over a great cross, Will Roberts got a touch and the ball came off a defender and into the net to give City a great win.
