Coventry City U21's beat Colchester United 4-1 at the Ricoh Arena this afternoon.
City with a trialist at right back and Marc Antoine Fortune and Ruben Lameiras in their starting line up, had the better of the play and were ahead in the 37th minute thanks to Lameiras getting down the right and slipping the ball past Barnes from an acute angle.
Fortune and Lameiras were replaced by the Kelly-Evans twins for the last thirty plus minutes for a City team which had a second goal in the 73rd minute when Devon Kelly Evans cut back for George Thomas to lash home a shot high into the net.
Colchester pulled a goal back in the 83rd minute with a far post header from Joe Tennant which may have come off a City defender who was on the line trying to clear it.
However, just over ninety seconds later, City restored their two goal margin when Lateef Elford- Alliyu rifled home from ten yards.
In stoppage time, Devon Kelly-Evans powered home a shot to give City a 4-1 win.
