Coventry City U21's were beaten 3-2 at Barnsley's Oakwell Ground in an U21 Development League fixture this afternoon.
City trailed to an Etuhu goal in the 15th minute before Lee Burge saved a penalty five minutes later from Danny Rose after Oates had been fouled.
However, in the 32nd minute, City were level when leading scorer Roy O'Donovan slipped the ball past former City keeper Luke Steele.
Kevin Malaga was then lucky to stay on the pitch when his late tackle on Rose saw the Barnsley player needing oxygen and the home fans demanding a dismissal as play was held up for six minutes whilst treatment was given.
Rose was stretchered off but just before the interval, The Tykes were back in front thanks to Oates heading home from five yards.
Back came City and in the 59th minute, a corner, headed on by Jordan Willis, was chested into his own net by Jake Scott to put Lee Carsley's side level.
However, despite some good saves from Lee Burge, Jordan Clark was able to round the City keeper with three minutes to go and keep City U21's without a victory this season.
