Coventry City U23's really needed to win but were held to a 1-1 draw at Sheffield United.
Jason Farndon and Luke Tidsdale sightly changed the team for this game at Stocksbridge Park Steels which City needed to win. and in came Charlie Wakefield at right back, Zain Westbrooke and Jack Burroughs.
The Sky Blues got off to a great start when Jordan Ponticelli fired them ahead in the 23rd minute, finishing off a Bremang cross.
The lead lasted for ten minutes as Addai failed to hold a Zak Brunt shot and Reece York tapped home.
Ponticelli hit the crossbar before the half ended.
United had the better of the chances in the second half in a game which finished 1-1 and sees City second in the table, a point clear of Crystal Palace. City have two games left and Palace three.
City U23's are away to Crewe on Monday at 1pm and at home to Hull City on April 12th.
