Coventry City U23's were hammered 7-2 at Charlton Athletic this afternoon.
Nicky Eaden's side were without Darragh Leahy who was on international duty with Republic Of Ireland U19's for this game at The Valley and it was a side that was pretty much expected against a Charlton side they should have been more than capable of getting a result against.
City were a goal down in six minutes when Karlan Ahearne-Grant got onto a Mikhail Kennedy through ball and finished past Addai.
In the 23rd minute, provider turned goalscorer when Mikhail Kennedy fired home. Six minutes later and Kennedy set up Ahearne-Grant for the third with a free kick from inside the area after the Sky Blues were penalised for a backpass.
City were awarded a 31st minute penalty when George Thomas went down in the box and Thomas got up and scored from the spot.
However, it was 4-1 when the brother of City first team keeper - Regan Charles-Cook ran through and beat Addai in the 38th minute to put Charlton 4-1 up at the break.
Goal number five for Charlton came thanks to a 54th minute own goal from Dion Kelly-Evans who steered an Aribo cross into his own net.
A minute later and Josh Umerah hit the sixth from 25 yards and in the 57th minute, Kennedy dispossessed Addai and passed to Reeco Hackett-Fairchild who made it 7-1.
The Sky Blues had chances late on and Devon Kelly-Evans scored in stoppage time as the Sky Blues went down to a very heavy defeat.
