Coventry City Reserves kept up their wnning streak with a 3-2 win against West Brom.

Due to both sides having first team games tomorrow night, both sides fielded young sides. In terms of Coventry City first team experience,Kevin Thornton was Coventry's most experienced player.

Khali Fadiga did get another run-out as part of his rehabilitation whillst the Baggies fielded former Sky Blue Luke Steele.

On a foggy night at Liberty Way,Kevin Thornton was booked early on for losing it when he conceded possession.

Ashley Cain looked good going forward down the right and won the first corner of the game in the 12th minute.

There was a litany of offsides in the opening twenty minutes as City's forwards failed to work out the Baggies tactics. But in the 22nd minute, the classy Khali Fadiga did some excellent work down the left. The Senegal international centred for Donovan Simmonds on the penalty spot who flicked the ball into the net with his right boot.

City's lead was almost wiped out within a minute. Thornton had a header saved,WBA through Josh Knight who picked up on an error by Francis. The shot hit the foot of the far post and hit the foot of incoming Michael Nardiello who did not react quick enough to keep the ball in play.

Lee Hildreth and Nardiello, watched by Donato and teacher Phil, were booked before Steele superbly blocked with his feet from Fadiga in the 38th minute.

Simmonds volleyed narrowly over as the half came to a close with all the football played in the middle third.

Craig Shakespeare made two changes at the break .

In the 55th minute, the best long ball of the game so far which came from Jermaine Grandison, picked out Thornton who won a corner.

Callum Burgess fired wide and then had to get back and get in the way of a Knight shot to concede a corner.

West Brom were now starting to threaten,so Steve Ogrizovic sent on Reis Ashraf. The change worked immediately as Ashraf dispossessed Steele in the 74th minute and played the ball inside for Khali Fadiga who tapped into the empty net

David Worral struck a post and five minutes from time, met a corner and crossed from the right for substitute Stefan Morrison to bundle over the line.

Seconds later,City restored their two goal advantage when Adam.Walker superbly curled into the far corner of the net past Steele.

Just as the fourth official was putting up his board for three extra minutes, Albion pulled another one back with a stunning strike from 25 yards from substitute Anthony Bruce. But City held on to win.
