Coventry City U23's coach Jason Farndon has said that he was disappointed as City U23's threw away a two goal lead and drew 2-2 against Huddersfield Town this afternoon at the Ricoh Arena.
Farndon told the media after the game which saw Billy Stedman and Jordan Ponticelli score for the Sky Blues: “I’m disappointed with the result but, most importantly, I’m disappointed with the performance which was really lacklustre and not a performance that we should be proud of,” said Farndon, relfecting on the 2-2 draw.
“I think we need to work a lot harder.
“The pitch was really difficult to play on. However, both teams are on it, but I just didn’t think we showed the application without the ball to strangle the game out of possession.
“It was important for Bevs to get 90 minutes under his belt.
“There was him, Ponticelli, Devon, Barrett who have not played much football and it was their first 90 minutes for a while and towards the end you could see that was their first game in a long while.
“There was nothing pre-planned and we just went with what we had available. Even in the development squad we have got Jordon Thompson who is struggling with an injury, as is Dion Kelly-Evans and Reece Ford.
"Lewis Green, one of our Under-18s, is suspended so we literally had Chris Camwell and Stokesy as the only available defenders.
“However, they could and should be able to play different formations so we can’t blame that on the result.
“Today was not a success for me. It was a disappointing performance.”
