Coventry City U23's coach Jason Farndon has said that he was really happy with the 2-1 win at Charlton Athletic yesterday.
City trailed to an early goal before Dave Bremang scored twice to give the Sky Blues the win and Farndon told the club website: “I’m really happy with the performance, those will see that we went a goal behind, but in reflection we dominated the game.
“It was a sloppy goal for us to give away early on from our point of view, but the lads were patient and we got the goals we needed.
“I thought Dexter Walters had a good game, he was the main source of our creativity during the game and played his part in helping us get the win.
“We’re now five unbeaten in the league and it’s good for the lads to get the mentality of winning games.
“However, there’s still things we need to work on, especially going forward, I don’t think we have been ruthlessness enough in front of goal.
“We could’ve had the game out of sight before the late winner through David Bremang, after Zain Westbrooke had missed a penalty.
“Overall it’s a good way to start the year and after the break we’ve had to come back with dominant display, I’m very pleased.”
