Jason Farndon said he was pleased with the workout that Coventry City U23's had during their 4-2 win at Bedworth United last night.
I’m pleased with the workout." Farndon said to Alex Lowe
"We are a lot younger than we thought we were going to be because a couple of the lads have gone on tour with the first team, but everything we wanted to get out of the game we did.
"I thought Jonny Ngandu was excellent tonight at just 16 years of age.
"He lights the game up when he gets the ball and he has been promising that for a long time.
"He has been training with the 23s since we came back and I think he’s a really exciting footballer.
"He’s been at the academy since he was six and is a local lad and has been spoken about for a long time and he’s come back in good shape and like I said I thought he was excellent tonight and was a real plus point for us.
"There’s a couple more we’re looking to bring into the development squad which could be done in the next few weeks.
"We’re adding to the group and just looking to rebuild because we have lost a few of the lads that have made the step-up or have been sold, so we’re just looking to bring in new faces."
"We’ve only been back two weeks and obviously the other staff have gone away to Alicante and I stayed back on Saturday and trained the lads who couldn’t play on the Astro Turf such as Tony Andreu, Junior Brown, Abu Ogogo, so we haven’t spent a lot of time together as staff at the moment, but we’re looking forward to getting everything going."
