Coventry City U21 coach Lee Glover has said that he is really disappointed after his side went down to a 6-2 defeat after leading 2-1.
Glover told the Coventry Telegraph's Andy Turner: “We have had quite a few difficult afternoons with the group because they are so young.
“We’re struggling, we have got people out injured, but the manner in which we conceded the goals, I’m really disappointed.
“They need to realise a few things because I think some of them stopped for a little bit in the second half and that's disappointing.
“They are young but they have got to keep going and the ones with the moral courage and moral fibre will be the ones who come through eventually to become pros and play in the first team.
“Forest’s style of play was aggressive and what I would term a bit more direct than us but we have to counter that and then play our stuff, have the moral courage to get on the ball and I don’t think we did that in the second half.
“I was encouraged by the first half because we played well, created chances and went in at 2-2 but we can’t let defeats like that go unchecked and without giving the lads a reality check because that’s where they are at the moment.
“Currently none of them are in the first-team squad and if you are trying to force your way in you need to be doing more than that.
“I hope they go home disheartened and thinking about their performance. They are self-employed as footballers and accountable for themselves. When you look at a teamsheet you don’t look for anyone else’s name other than your own.
“When you are moving on in the game it’s about you doing as well as you can with the skill set you have got but when you start to drop below that and begin to blame others rather than looking at yourself, and don’t analyse your own performance, that’s when you drift out of the game.
“You know at this club you are going to get a chance so the opportunity is here and you can move very quickly like Bassala Sambou, Jordan Shipley and Callum Maycock have done if you do it right.”
