Coventry City Academy boss Greg Rioch has said that he was proud of his side despite their 2-0 defeat to Blackburn Rovers at Ewood Park last night.
Speaking to Sky Blue Player, Rioch said: "The lads were obviously disappointed but you have got to put it into perspective.
"That is our first defeat in four months and our first away defeat of the season and that just goes to show what a good side Blackburn are.
"We just didn't have enough on the night. We can have no complaints about the side that has gone through to the next round.
"There were two good teams out there and I am sure they will have a couple of players come through their system to play in the first team, just as we do.
"I want the lads to reflect on it but not to be too disappointed, they can stand tall and stand proud of the way they have represented Coventry City.
"We felt that we hadn't really got ourselves going and playing and allowed them to get a goal in front at half-time.
"They were very physical, very strong and had a couple of flair players. It was difficult for us to combat their style of play.
"We started to play a bit in the second half but then we got caught for the second goal. In the last 15 minutes we played how we had wanted to start the game.
"Our two centre-backs were excellent along with Will Roberts in midfield and I was really pleased with all the lads that came on off the bench.
"We have got to bounce back now because we have a top of the table clash with Reading at the weekend."
