Coventry City Academy Boss Gregor Rioch has said that he is pleased with the U18's performances so far this season.

Speaking to the City programme ahead of the 3-2 win over Chelsea, Rioch said: "i am delighted with the way we have started, we have scored a lot of goals but more importantly we have put in some good performances.

"What is even more heartening is the way we have performed well without a number of senior players for some games, with Josh Ruffles, Gael Bigirimana, Conor Thomas and Arron Phillips all being involved with the first team at various points.

"It is interesting to see how players adapt when we are without some of the regular players and a number of the other players have really stepped up to the plate.

"Joe Henderson and Jordan Willis have been phenomenal at the back and Clark-Harris and Roberts up front have done really well.

"Billy Daniels has dropped into midfield and i think he has adapted to the role superbly.

"A few of our first and second years have had to be patient, but when they have come into the squad, they have fitted in perfectly.

"I am looking forward to the rest of the season, not just from a football point of view, but because of the individuals I will be working with."
