Coventry City have offered professional contracts to six of its young players.

Those who watch the U18's regularly will not be surprised to learn that goalkeeper Corey Addai, defensive duo Jacob Whitmore and Darragh Leahy, midfielders Jordan Shipley and Callum Maycock and striker Bas Sambou have all been offered professional deals at the club.

Academy Boss Richard Stevens told the club website: "It's a great moment for us as an Academy to see five scholars offered professional contracts with the football club.

"It shows the huge amount of confidence the first-team management staff have in the work we do at the Academy and the players we're currently producing.

"This year, we've been able to get six out of seven across the line which is a fantastic success rate and I'd like to congratulate the group for their hard work coming off.

"Of course, it doesn't stop there. They need to continue their hard work in the Under-21s group next season and keep pushing towards that first-team berth. I've got full confidence that these players will impact Coventry City's first-team in the coming years with the right amount of application and work ethic.''
