Coventry City U18’S Boss Greg Rioch has said that despite City U18’s 2-1 defeat to Reading on Saturday, City are still going all out to win the league.
Speaking to Sky Blue Player, Rioch said: "We have a winning mentality at the Academy and we have a focus of producing quality players who are good enough to earn professional contracts.
“They will be hurt after this week but the positive is that they will be looking to prove to themselves and to everyone, that it is just a blip.
"The disappointing performance was on Tuesday but as far as the Reading game goes, it was a very good response and we were just unlucky on the day.
"As long as they perform and produce their best, usually the results take care of themselves. We are certainly going to give it a very good go at winning the league this year, and why not.
"But what is the point of winning a league if none of our players win a professional contract. Hopefully we will have a good mixture of both at the end of the season."
