Coventry Sphinx captain Robbie Banks has said that his side have had a really mixed start to the season.
Banks told the Sphinx website: 'It's been a really mixed start to the season for us. As a team we've put in a couple of really top performances, but lack of consistency and again a little nativity has meant we've been second best in more than one Game. The problems we've encountered so far have not been through lack of ability or desire, I just think as a team we need to make better decisions and show a bit more football IQ.
"We often talk about "the other side of the game", things like not letting people run of the back of you, communication, seeing and doing things early. At times it has been this side of the game that has cost us. We aim to move the ball quickly which we work hard on in training. Some players like more touches but again it's down to decisions, when to take those touches or when to play early.
"The Gaffer & Herbs have been brilliant at communicating with the players about what they want from us, we work hard in training to fix any problems we've had in the previous games. I think this is really important , whenever we encounter a problem which will happen because we are a new and young team, we fix it ASAP.
"It's important we learn from the opening matches and keep working on us and the way we want to play. it's an exciting season ahead for us, it's a matter of time before we get things right and we will be a real force. we have a team brimming with talent, we need to turn that into points week in week out."
