Coventry Sphinx captain Robbie Banks has said that pre-season has been mixed.
Speaking to the Sphinx website, Banks said: "It's been a mixed preseason for us, results haven't been great but performances have showed we are a team with a lot of potential.
"We have a good mixture of youth and experience and we like to play the right way. This is great for me and the other lads who have joined from Rugby Town because it's very familiar style of football for us. I think as a team we have to cut out the naivety that crept in over a few pre-season game and will be winning games.
"We will be playing teams that play different styles of football and there will be games where things don’t go our way, this is why it's so important that we learn to problem solve and develop a win at all costs mentality (Ugly if needs be).
"I think the new lad's experience will bring this into the side and knowing the younger lads I'm sure they will buy into it. That being said there is clearly a lot of ability in the team, we have some really impressive young players here and anyone who watches us preseason can see that and that we can play.
"Away from the pitch, myself and all the other new players have been made to feel so welcome and all the guys behind the scenes so above and beyond for the club and its clear to see this is a club on the rise.
"Another huge plus is the team spirit is already right up there with the best I've been involved in and this is now starting to translate in the pitch where as anybody knows in football is priceless.
"There a real togetherness here and as a team we've got huge expectations for the season.
All the lads have put in the hard work pre-season, this Saturday it's back to business and time to put all that hard work in effect."
