Coventry Sphinx manager Stuart Dutton has said that his side put in a very good performance in the 8-0 win against Brocton.
Dutton told the Sphinx website: "Yesterday was a very good performance against a Brocton side that beat Walsall Wood the previous week so they are no pushovers.
"They may have had a look at our previous result and came with the wrong attitude as the result itself didn't in my opinion give a true reflection of the game.
"What we did well this week was take our chances we created 12 good chances and converted 8 we also had a goal disallowed.
"There were areas of the game I am still looking to improve as we did at times take our eye off the ball and gave Brocton 3 chances but that's something we will look at over the next few weeks.
"Pre-season was probably not the best preparation for myself with being away for 2 weeks but would like to thank Neil and Martin for holding the fort and preparing the lads for the season ahead.
"I am quite happy with the squad we have but will always be looking to improve the squad if the right player becomes available, the squad I picked yesterday only had 2 players in Luke Downes and Mitchell Thomson from last seasons squad so we are still in that transition process. The plus side for me is the players attitude to training and games its been second to none and if we can maintain that throughout the season it will help when the chips are down in games.
"Finally I would just like to say thanks to Martin Sockett for his time and input over the last 8 weeks. Martin has decided to leave the club for his own reasons and I and the club would like to wish him well for the future."
