Embarrassing was the comment for Manager Luke Hopkins as Sphinx went down 3-0 to Bedworth Utd in their final pre season game.
Apart from a 10 minute period in the first half, Sphinx were never in this game as they were out played and out bullied in a very poor display.
Had it not been for Carl O'Neill in the Sphinx goal they could easily have been six down at the break. The passing was awful and the decision making no better, take nothing away from Bedworth they game with a game plan and it worked but for Sphinx it was very much another Jekyll & Hyde display.
'I can take being beaten when I know the lads have put their heart and soul into the game but that was not good enough for the Sphinx some players need to take a long hard look at themselves and decide if they want to play for the club," Hopkins told the Sphinx website.
"They get everything laid on for them all they have to do is play ninety minutes of football and put the graft but that didn't happen tonight.
"For those in the crowd who watched the game against Barwell must of been wondering if this was the same Sphinx side and if they had performed at that level I can assure you the game would of been much tighter.
"As they say its back to the drawing board no player can come moaning at me Saturday when they find they are not in the starting 11 as I could quite easily make 9 changes and rest assured there will be changes."
