Coventry Sphinx drew 0-0 at Shepshed Dynamo tonight in a Midland Football League Premier Division fixture.
Luke Hopkins was able to field a full strength side at the Dovecote stadium in front of a crowd of 173 including a good Sphinx following.
Shepshed had most of play in the first half with Levi Porter causing a number of problems against a Sphinx side which saw Cain, McBride and Blythe all have chances.
Sphinx keeper Carl O'Neill was in fine form dealing with everything that came his way and made a a great save to push away a 28th minute shot from Porter who should have scored with a free header nine minutes later.
Shepshed should have been five goals up but it was Mitch PIggon who came closest to breaking the deadlock when he struck the post following a 44th minute corner.
In the second half, things were a lot tighter and the Sphinx defence, who defended superbly, restricted the home side, who are unbeaten this season to half chances and it was the Sphinx support who went home happier with their first ever point at this Leicestershire enclave.
