Coventry Sphinx manager Luke Hopkins felt there was plenty of positives from Saturday's 3-1 Midland Football League Premier Division defeat at Basford United.
“What could go wrong, did go wrong,” said Hopkins to the Coventry Telegraph, “but although it was a disappointing result there plenty of positives to take away from the game – the character that has been missing the past few weeks turned up.
“A little too late, perhaps,” said Hopkins, “but we were brilliant at times and with the chances we had I wouldn’t have been surprised to get a draw or even a win.
“That second-half performance has restored some of my faith that the boys do want to play for this club and win games.
“We now have a week to prepare for Studley in the FA Vase and hopefully a good cup run will help us along in the league.”
