Sphinx Manager Stu Dutton has pulled off a coup by persuading Jamie Towers to sign back on at the club where he started his senior career.
With a host of clubs trying to sign Towers Dutts was more than happy to get his signature and told the Sphinx website: "Jamie is a massive signing for us he has played at a very good level ever since he left the Sphinx many moons ago. He can play in various positions and not only scores goals but creates chances as well. He will be a vital cog in the squad of players we are assembling at Sphinx. We are still very much work in progress but hopefully once the side starts to gel we will become a hard team to beat."
Towers started his career at Sphinx before moving onto Nuneaton Town where he made 9 appearances. He then went onto to play for Leamington making over 60 appearances before signing for Barwell where he enjoyed much success including successive promotions winning the Midland Alliance and Evostik Northern League Division One South titles.
He was top goalscorer for two seasons and was a constant threat either bombing down the right wing or splitting the defences as a centre forward. He made over 200 appearances for Barwell spanning 10 years and in between he has played for Kettering and Rugby Town.
It only goes to say welcome back JT heres to a successful period at Coventry Sphinx.
