The two goals Tom Thacker scored for Coventry Sphinx against Oldbury United last Saturday turned out to be milestone events.
His first goal was his 50th for Sphinx and also his 200th goal in a career which has seen him play for Sphinx, Coventry Copsewood, Sphinx, Southam United, West Midlands Police, Nuneaton Griff before he left Highgate United in September for his second spell at Sphinx Drive.
Said Sphinx boss Paul Charnley: : "It wasn't until after the game that we realised that Tom had achieved such a milestone but he has been great since re-signing from Highgate United in September. And to score 200 goals is a fantastic personal achievement for Tom and I'm hopeful he'll continue in that way for us for many years to come."
