Coventry Sphinx made their longest trip of the season to the Welsh borders but had two players sent off in a 4-1 defeat to Ellesmere Rangers.
There was nothing between the two teams at the end of a goal-less first half but in the second half, Sphinx were reduced to ten men when Captain Terry Ward was sent off for a second bookable offence.
Chris Cathall opened the scoring in the 50th before Paul Saunders netted for Sphinx on 55 minute to make the score 1-1 but two goals with the first a 70th minute penalty converted by Eddie Hope given by the linesman and a Danny Barton goal seven minutes later saw Sphinx 3-1 down.
Robbie Stevenson was sent off two minutes from time and then the home side made it an even more miserable day for Danny McSheffrey's side with a fourth from Danny Price.
Sphinx are at home to Loughborough University on Tuesday night.
