Coventry Sphinx drew 1-1 with Coleshill Town this afternoon in a Midland Football League Premier Division fixture.
A good sized crowd on a lovely Bank Holiday day saw Stuart Dutton's side awarded a 26th minute penalty for a foul on Jamie Towers.
Ryan Harkin stepped up and fired Sphinx into a lead which lasted less than two minutes as former Sphinx winger Gio Dainty got through and equalised in the 28th minute.
Both sides had chances and Sphinx had a goal not given in the 69th minute when the referee and assistant were unable to see that the ball had crossed the line but against a side who have an excellent record against Sphinx, the 1-1 draw was a good result for Sphinx who are still unbeaten.
