AFC TELFORD 4-0 COVENTRY SPHINX YOUTH
Coventry Sphinx Youth Team played their first away Midland Floodlit Youth League Premier Division match at AFC Telford tonight.
Neil Moran and Steve Shea's side enjoyed pkenty of possession in the opeing period and defended stoutly when required to do so.
Dave Freeman had Sphinx's best chance in the 25th minute when Jokic the home keeper palmed away his shot for yet another Sphinx corner.
Dave Allen was having a fine game in the Sphinx goal and denied Scott Emberly in the 34th minute before making a one handed save from a corner that was eventually cleared off the line.
Telford took the lead twelve minutes into the second half through a low Rob Millington drive. The substitute doubled his tally in the 63rd minute when he fired smartly between the keeper and post.
Another home substitute - Luke Round headed home the third from a 76th minute free kick with Callum Pugh reacting to the ball crashing against the bar in the 85th minute to make it 4-0.
Sphinx battled until the end but it was not their night as Andy Wilson King had his last minute penalty saved by Lokic.
