2-Tone fans from as far away as Darlington and Poole helped to bring the dream of a permanent home for 2-tone music in Coventry became a step nearer after over 800 people attended a fund raising evening tonight.
Those in attendance which included some of the hieracharchy of the Coventry music scene including John Dawkins, Roger Lomas, Paul Heskett, Trevor Evans, Steve 'Cardbord' Eaton, Horace Panter, Noel Davies and later on, Nevile Staple, listened and danced to sets by Coventry local bands Carly Ryder, Just Morale, The Tones, Pint Shot Riot and the Allskas fronted by City supporter Pete Ryder and featuring Charles Aitch Bembridge and Gaps Henderson from The Selector and a headline set by Roddy Radiation & The Ska Billy Rebels which was recorded and wil lbe released as a dvd.

There was also a Northern Soul DJ set from Specials Drummer John 'Brad; Bradbury.
As with all fundraisers, there was an auction, conducted by Touch FM's Brody Swain with some special lots including a signed Paul Weller framed and unavailable items given to members of the Specials.
