Ghost Walks Wins The Godiva Awards

Spookhunters, was tonight named as Coventry & Warwickshire's Visitor Tourist Atraction Of The Year in the Godiva Awards at the Mercia Live Level at the Ricoh Arena in Coventry.

The annual awards which were introduced by BBC Midlands Today's Sarah Falkland, named Spookhunters, which provides weekly two hour walks around the haunted parts of Coventry on a Friday night, as the best attraction in a field which attracted twenty seven entrants from Coventry, Leamington, Kenilworth, Nuneaton, Warwick, Stratford, Alcester, Bedworth and Rugby.

One of the new tourist attractions to our city - the 2-Tone Trail was one of the nominations.

The Coventry Ambassador Of The Year was also announced and the winner this year was Peter Deeley, who is the Managing Director of the Deeley Group. He became the Chairman of Coventry Technical College (now City College) in 1991 and the Chairman of the Construction Section of the Coventry Chamber of Commerce in 1998 and he is past Chairman of the Builder Employers Confederation (Coventry and Warwickshire) and Heart of England Community Foundation.

Best Theatre: Wheatsheaf Players, Coventry

Best Bar: Bar Maison, Priory Place, Coventry

Best Family Friendly Award: Herbert Art Gallery & Museum

Best Business: Coventry Market
