Hereford are the Midland Football League Polymac League Cup champions after a 3-1 win over Walsall Wood in the Final.
At a very wet Solihull Moors FC, Walsall Wood, got past Lye Town in the last round, had the better of the play early on, winning two corners.
Hereford, the MFL Premier Division Champions, had two chances blocked by the keeper in the 15th minute but Walsall went up and won a free kick. Louis Harris took it and beat Rovers to score and put Wood a goal up.
Hereford won a 26th minute corner but Wood were back forcing two saves out of Rivers.
Then in the 36th minute, Hereford were level thanks to a stunning goal from Symons who turned and volleyed high into the net from twenty five yards out with a curler which flew in.
Then just before half-time, Hereford had the lead thanks to a Ross Staley shot on the left which went through a badly positioned goalkeeper.
In stoppage time, the Wood keeper made two cracking saves to keep the score at 2-1 at the break.
Hereford had two good chances pushed over in the first first fifteen minutes of the second half and were the stronger of the two teams.
With three minutes left, Mustapha Bundu raced through to score with aplomb and give Hereford the cup.
