Leamington FC have issued a statement following yesterday's game with Stockport County.
The statement is as follows:
"With regard to match arrangements and events at the game between Leamington FC and Stockport County FC Club Chairman Jim Scott makes the following statement:
"Both personally and on behalf of the club, I wish to apologise to those of our fans who felt intimidated by a group of Stockport County fans in the Harbury Lane End during the second half of yesterdays game. Whilst there were no specific incidents of disorder, we recognize that in that area of the ground, it did not promote the family friendly atmosphere and welcoming environment of which the club is proud of.
"The conduct of the vast majority of Stockport County fans was excellent, nevertheless, it was clear that issues arose during the game that need to be addressed and prevented from happening in the future.
"I would like to assure fans we had been in liaison with the respective police forces and Stockport County officials in advance of the game and made our match operation decisions based on a combination of advice and intelligence provided.
"We accept full responsibility for our decisions and will be conducting a full review of match operation and stewarding arrangements. We welcome any comments or information you may have. Please forward these to info@leamingtonfc.co.uk
"We thank you for your continued support"
